We’ve hit the midway mark in summer so your tan is in full effect and your business idea is ready for the next steps. There are ample business resources out there (500+ in our network!) that are ready to help you reach your next milestone, so make sure the beach you’re on or the lake you’re coving has Wi-Fi to access some of the information you’ll need to start or grow your business.

August 7, 2019: Fast Trac  – New Venture, Kirksville, Missouri

Designed for new businesses and to introduce you to the key elements of successful entrepreneurship, this event series will offer essential business information to help you develop your entrepreneurial skills and build your business on a strong foundation. Areas of study will include concept analysis and business planning. If you can’t make this one, don’t fret! This opportunity will be offered again and maybe in your neighborhood.

August 8, 2019: Predicting Cash Needs, Joplin, Missouri

Participants in this training will learn to estimate future sources and uses of cash and also learn how to analyze those predictions to make more informed decisions. Attendees will walk away feeling more informed about decisions related to preparing for growth, realistic loan and financing requests, how much cash they can safely take out of the business, and making affordable purchases for the business.

August 8, 2019: Demographics 101, Bridgeton, Missouri

Hosted by the St. Louis Library, Demographics 101 will focus on the resources available at the library. Learn how to navigate some of the best library information for demographics and discover how they can help with your business decision-making and planning. Think marketing to your core customer without the trial and error.

August 12, 2019: efactory Accelerator Demo Day, Springfield, Missouri

The accelerator program hosted by efactory will have its founders present the work they’ve been refining for 12 weeks. All founders will present their next steps with community members, business leaders, and investors. It is totally free to check out these new startups and build up your network!

August 15, 2019: Winning Federal Research Grants: SBIR/STTR Workshop, Kansas City, Missouri

Have a technology business but don’t know where to find funding or the best way to acquire it? Then this ELEVATIONLAB at the Small Business Technology Development Center at University of Missouri Kansas City workshop is for you! This introductory seminar explains how to win SBIR (Small Business Initiative Research) and STTR (Small Business Technology Transfer Research) grants from federal programs that provide Research and Development (RD) funds for small businesses. You will learn how to find grants, how to apply, and the best strategies to gain funding for your growing technology business. Lunch is included.

August 15, 2019: Steps to Starting a Food Business, St. Louis, Missouri

Presented by the Legal Services of Eastern Missouri and the St. Louis County Library, this clinic will guide you through the steps you should take before beginning a food business or food truck in the St. Louis area. Prepare to learn how to avoid any issues or pitfalls that you will knock you off your game. Registration is required, but it is free! Make sure to get on the list before it fills up.

August 20, 2019: Advanced QuickBooks (Desktop), West Plains, Missouri

OzSBI is hosting a class that will build on your knowledge of Quickbooks. Improve the accuracy of your small business accounting with a one-day advanced training on QuickBooks (Desktop Version). In this workshop, you will learn advanced QuickBooks features such as standard report formats, sorting lists, transferring funds across accounts, exporting to Excel and more. This is not a beginner’s class, but feel free to register if you have an advanced knowledge of Quickbooks Pro.

August 22, 2019: Women Business Owner Mastermind Exchange, Columbia, Missouri

Missouri Women’s Business Center always hosts a goodie! Learn about the power of mastermind groups as you experience this confidential, supportive space for women to come together and discuss challenges, ideas and success stories. First timers always welcome. There is no fee to attend!
