This Month: Classes and Events to Grow Your Missouri Business

So what do they say about March? In like a raging snow snowstorm (so over it) and out like a spring breeze (let’s hope, right)? Whether you’re siding with the lion or the lamb, March is the perfect time to dust off your business calendar, print up some fresh business cards and get out into the community to shake some hands and round up some business.

If you’re interested in the future of rural communities, this is the event for you.

Rob Dixon, director of the Missouri Department of Economic Development, is the keynote speaker for this jammed packed day of breakout sessions, Google presentation, roundtable session and more. Get this North Missouri Business Expo on your calendar and we’ll see you at North Central Missouri College in Trenton.

March 20, 2019: InvestMidwest

InvestMidwest is a venture capital conference that showcases 40-45 companies from throughout the Midwest in the three industry tracks of life sciences, technology and food/ag/bioenergy.

 

March 21, 2019: International Student Talent Showcase, Cape Girardeau, Missouri

Southeast Missouri State University and Codefi are hosting the first ever International Student Talent Showcase. This pitch-style event introduces international students to innovative companies and the internships they have available.

Current companies include: carGO Technologies, CENET, Codefi, Codefi Labs, Element74, Little Red Wagon Press, Morning Star Behavioral Associates and Marquette Tech District Foundation.

March 25-29, 2019: Entrepreneurship Week, St. Joseph, Missouri

Heeeey . . . it’s Entrepreneurship Week. Head over to Missouri Western State University for a weeklong series of free workshops and events. The weeklong program is targeted toward local business professionals, aspiring entrepreneurs, college students, high school students, and those curious about the skills needed to run a small business.

Business professors and other experts will offer small, personalized sessions at various times throughout the week. Sessions include How to Write a Business Plan, Accounting for Beginners and Advanced QuickBooks, Social Media Tools for Small Businesses, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign and more. All of the sessions are open to the community and students. Walk-ins are welcome, but registration is preferred.

March 29, 2019: OzTech Hack-Attack, West Plains, Missouri

So what is a hack-attack? Imagine a common problem and a fast, furious and talented team coming together to “hack” out a solution. The first hackathon in West Plains, this hackathon is geared toward anyone who has a knack for coming up with inventive and innovative solutions.  Bring a project or problem that you have (or see) that could benefit from a focused “attack.”
